The Cave is Byron’s number one fun bar with small-town charm and a laid-back approach which provides the ideal backdrop for any type of crowd.  Matt & Jamie purchased this bar in March of 2013 and it is common to find them hanging here with friends.  Matt’s dad hung out here back in the day so when it came for sale it was a no-brainer to grab.  It is the perfect dive bar to grab a shot and a beer and catch up with family and “bubs.”  Our food is simple with Cave Burger’s anchoring our menu along with several quick appetizers.  We sell about 900 Busch Lights a week and pour a little less than a case a week of Leroux Blackberry Brandy.  So it that’s your thing; you found your home.   The Cave has a habit of turning strangers into friends and that is what we like to hang our hat on.  Cheers, let’s have a Busch Light soon.

Matt & Jamie Pendergrass, Owners

Matt and Jamie were both born and raised in the Rockford area, and opened The Cave in the Spring of 2013. In addition to The Cave, the couple owns Aero, Hunt Club, Rural on Tap, and Idle Hour. You will often find them working the bar themselves, or visiting with local patrons. Matt and Jamie understand how hard work is the foundation of small businesses, and how small businesses are the foundation of communities.
